The EIS team behind Adaptive Rowing

The EIS has a small but strong support team working closely with Great Britain’s adaptive rowers, with services provided mainly from Bisham Abbey, located close to the athletes water based training environment at Caversham.

EIS Senior Physiotherapist Pat Dunleavy has played a significant role in coordinating a multi disciplinary approach to service delivery, working particularly closely alongside Strength and Conditioning and Physiology.

The Strength and Conditioning services, overseen by Neil Lewis, has developed specific programmes tailored to each athletes needs, ensuring they remain as robust as possible in order to maintain their high volume of water based training.

Physiology support, provided by Sarah Hardman, has also played a significant role in informing coaches and practitioners, whilst the athletes also benefit from Performance Lifestyle support, helping to minimise potential concerns, conflicts and distractions, all of which can be detrimental to performance.
