The EIS team behind Archery

The EIS has worked with GB Archery for 9 years and predominantly delivers support to athletes out of the GB Archery training base at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.

The EIS support team are integrated within the GB Archery programme, often travelling away to training camps and competitions as part of their roles.

Over the past Olympic cycle, the integration of the biomechanics, physiotherapy and strength and conditioning support services within the coaching team has played an important role in the programme. Head Coach Lloyd Brown uses biomechanics within the training and competition environment and through the high speed camera feedback at the squads training base, the analysis has played a key role in injury prehabilitation and on athletes’ technique.

Archery GB Performance Director Sara Symington says: “Through the integrated service provision we have built into Archery with the aid of EIS, we are able to provide a far more comprehensive programme to all the current archers within the World Class programme which enables them to train more effectively and smartly with the aim of medal success."

The Performance Pathway Team combines EIS and UK Sport expertise to identify world class talent.

Research and Development enables the EIS to identify where technology can impact positively.

The EIS delivers on average 4000 hours of Sport Science and Medicine each week
