The EIS team behind Wheelchair Basketball

The EIS provide a range of services to both the GB Men’s and GB Women’s Wheelchair Basketball squads including Strength and Conditioning, Performance Nutrition and, more recently, Performance Lifestyle.

As a sport operating a non centralised programme, wheelchair basketball has been able to utilised the EIS network by having strength and conditioning support delivered locally to athletes throughout the country, coordinated by a lead coach (Mark Jarvis).

The sport also invests in Performance Lifestyle services, assisting athletes on any range of aspects relating to performance, and Performance Nutrition. Whilst Physiotherpy support is also available when required, playing a significant role in Jon Pollocks recovery from a shoulder injury and Terry Bywater’s wrist injury last year.

Collaboration

The UK Talent Team combines EIS and UK Sport expertise to identify world class talent.
