East Midlands
Based at the multi-sport hub site at Loughborough University (Central Directorate), the east midland team works with 25 sports plus a number of disability and paralympic sports. They lead on swimming, canoeing, triathlon, taekwondo, speed skating, cricket, orienteering and liaison with the British Paralympic Association (BPA).
The EIS High Performance Centre at Loughborough University opened in late 2003 since when athletes have had access to the full range of EIS support services including physiology, physiotherapy, medical consultants and strength and conditioning experts. Loughborough is also the site of the National Cricket Academy.
Services in the region are also provided from Holme Pierrepont National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. These include Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, Soft Tissue Therapy, Physiology, Performance Analysis and Nutrition.
