Respiratory Physiologist

Respiratory illnesses such as upper respiratory tract infection and asthma contribute a substantial proportion of the preparation and performance days-lost by UK High Performance System athletes. This role will provide the physiological delivery, and project co-ordination within a two-year initiative aimed at developing and implementing best practices towards athlete respiratory health. The role will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team aiming to minimise the performance threat posed by respiratory illness by developing and delivering best practice risk factor management.

Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach

This role will involve leading the management and development of strength and conditioning services to World Class Programme athletes across a number of sports in Loughborough and Birmingham. Strength and Conditioning Coach (British Cycling Academy)

This role will be responsible for the Strength and Conditioning (S&C) support to the British Cycling Academy programmes. The role is diverse and will see the successful candidate working with Podium S&C Coaches to deliver and develop strength and conditioning services to Academy Riders working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create a world class high performance training environment.
Lead the S&C programme to Senior Academy Riders based in Manchester
Provide coordination and delivery across a network of coaches to the British Cycling Regional Academy S&C programme
Attend camps providing S&C coaching when required
Assist the S&C team in Manchester to manage the gym and cover S&C session when required.

WORK PLACEMENTS

Although it is not routine practice for EIS to offer work experience opportunities, in occasional circumstances where there is a lull in the sports calendar or there is some availability of suitable support, EIS has been able to provide short work experience placements for PhD and MSc level students providing there is a clear link to their course of study.

Please be aware that all work experience placements will be advertised when available and that we may not be able to respond to queries not related to an advertised opportunity.
