British Diving has confirmed their commitment to utilise English Institute of Sport (EIS) support services as part of their bid for success in 2012 in a new partnership agreement.

Diving will continue to use all EIS sport science and sport medicine services, retaining the team of EIS practitioners who have worked with the squad, ensuring the expertise within the sport are maximised.

With the new Performance Director, Alexi Evangulov, joining the squad next month, the agreement secures services and staff for the next year, to give Evangulov the opportunity to review the programme and secure services leading up to 2012.

“We are excited by the prospect of continuing to deliver and enhance the support services we provide for British Diving” said EIS Regional Director Peter Elliot.

“The practitioners have worked closely as a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring a close network of support for the athletes and coaches. Moving forward, it is this team approach which we hope can best support the demands of the squad and keep them at the forefront of their sport” he adds.

EIS services are delivered to the squad to four High Performance Centres, Sheffield, Leeds, Plymouth and Southampton and utilises a total of 13 named practitioners plus additional network staff.

Ian Mason, Director of World Class Operations at British Swimming said:

“British Swimming is delighted to renew its arrangements with the English Institute of Sport to provide sports science and medicine services to our world class diving programme.  Over the last 4 years, this arrangement has been of the highest quality as reflected in the detailed planning and excellent service provision.”
