Today and Tomorrow (25th and 26th of September) sees the 3rd Annual International Performance in Sport Conference being held in Newcastle upon Tyne, with many English Institute of Sport (EIS) practitioners attending.

The two day event is being held in association with the BUPA Great North Run and will bring together experts in the field of sport and exercise medicine and science.

The conference will address the issues of ‘injuries to the lower limb from diagnosis to rehabilitation’, which will be centred around the themes of groin, hip, knee and sacro iliac joint anatomy and dysfunction.

The conference will also host workshops and presentations and will encompass the specific injury issues while addressing the overall impacts and improvements to sport performance.

The conference is a multi-disciplinary event particularly targeted at doctors, physiotherapists, sport scientists, athlete coaches and all medical and healthcare professionals working or having an interest in sport from the UK and overseas.

EIS National Lead Physiotherapist Dean Kenneally and Physiotherapist Howard Turner will both be presenting. Kenneally will speak on ‘Hamstring Rehabilitation: Taking the performance model to non-performance athletes’ whilst Turner will focus on ‘Adduction Related Groin Pain and the Pelvis’.
