The English Institute of Sport features a nationwide network of regional world class support centres funded by the Sport England Lottery Fund and operated by a range of partners.

The sites are generally referred to as either 'hub' sites or 'satellite' sites. Hub sites, of which there is one per region, support the majority of athletes with a broad range of support services. Alternatively, the 'satellite' sites generally support a smaller number of athletes from where a more limited range of services are delivered.
