Dimitri Coutya and Piers Gilliver took yet another step on their journeys to Tokyo 2020 Paralympics with medals at the recent IWAS Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Dimitri took Category B Gold in both Epee and Foil with Piers winning Category A Gold in Epee and Bronze in Sabre with Great Britain securing fifth place in the men’s team Epee event.
Both athletes train at the Sport Training Village (STV) at the University of Bath, one of eight EIS high performance centres across England. Their day-to-day training is managed by EIS Lead Coach, Peter Rome.
The Institute is responsible for the management of the Wheelchair Fencing World Class Programme.
