Performance Director

Head of Performance Support
Louise Fawcett

With such a physically demanding sport, requiring strength, power and flexibility, British Gymnastics use a range of services and employ a Head of Sport Science and Medicine through the EIS.

Practitioners support athletes and coaches predominantly at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, as well as regionally in key clubs and across camps and competitions.

Whether it’s disciplines within artistic gymnastics, or trampolining, the EIS tailors its support to help athletes’ train and compete, whilst being at their best physically, technically or psychologically. This ranges from services such as Performance Lifestyle for athletes balancing full time study and training, through to Biomechanics to optimise movement patterns, helping to improve performance and reduce injury.

Everybody at the EIS does their part and goes the extra mile and that’s what makes the EIS and their staff so special. Everybody is trying to be the best they can be to help the athletes be the best that they can be.
