Performance Director

Head of Performance Support

A physically demanding and highly technical sport, the GB Rowing programme utilises sport science and medical services to ensure athletes maintain a high volume of water-based training as well as maintain form throughout competition.

EIS practitioners work closely with coaching staff and both podium and development rowers, delivering services from Bisham Abbey, at the nearby Caversham based training centre, as well as at camps and competitions.

Whether it’s Physiology testing in the lab and field to objectively monitor the impact a particular training session has had, Physiotherapy and Strength & Conditioning maintaining shape for high intensity training, or Performance Lifestyle helping athletes’ preparedness with life outside of rowing to help them mentally focus on training and competition, support services are closely integrated to ensure athletes’ benefit across all areas of support.
