The EIS has enjoyed a long association with British Gymnastics, predominantly delivering support at Lilleshall National Sports Centre as well as regionally in key clubs where athletes are based.
Since 2009 the sport has employed their Head of Sport Science and Medicine, Louise Fawcett, through the EIS, the first sport to do so. This has helped the sport develop a platform for the leadership and coordination of their support services, both centrally at camps and across the sports strong club network.
In such a physically demanding sport requiring strength, power and flexibility Physiotherapy and Strength and Conditioning play a vital role with support in this area growing considerably since 2009 allowing gymnasts to access specialised services.
Performance Analysis also provides a crucial service to the sport, arming coaches and athletes with valuable information for athlete and team debriefs.
Providing further vital support for the benefit of the athletes and their sporting performance, Psychology, Performance Nutrition and Performance Lifestyle services are also integrated as part of a multi-disciplinary programme.
